What this does and doesn’t mean

Recognitions are given to the local government unit, not to a person. An official is shown only as being in office when the LGU was recognized.

On a governor’s or mayor’s profile, a recognition appears only if their elected term covered 1 December of the award year, when these awards are usually conferred. The SGLG assessment can cover the previous year’s performance, which may fall partly under a predecessor.

A missing year is a gap in the records we could obtain, not a failed assessment.

How the lists were read

The DILG SGLG lists are scanned tables. They were read with OCR, and every name was matched only to a real PSGC province, city or municipality inside the region printed above it. Names shared by several LGUs were resolved from the printed province label. Rows the OCR could not read were read by eye from the page images. Nothing was guessed.

For every year with an official per-region breakdown (2016–2019, 2023), the counts match it exactly, region by region. The 2015 list has no breakdown table; its row numbering is complete.

Galing Pook places were matched by exact name. Where a name fits more than one LGU and the award page doesn’t say which, the record is listed but not linked to a place.

Not yet included: BLGF fiscal performance rankings, Gawad KALASAG, the Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance and the Lupong Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards. They will be added once official awardee lists are obtained.
