How to read a lifestyle check
- Each item pairs a public photo of the official with a retail listing that it appears to match. Our researchers chose the match; we show both pictures so you can judge it yourself.
- A match shows a resemblance only. It does not prove the item is authentic, who paid for it, when it was bought, or that public money was involved.
- Prices are the retailer’s list price on the date shown, converted to pesos. They are not what the official paid.
- Compare the total with the official’s declared net worth (SALN). Only the Ombudsman can carry out an official lifestyle check; this page does not accuse anyone of wrongdoing.
- Officials named here may send a response; we publish it in full next to the item. Spotted an error? Send a correction
